 ~General Story Rules~
« Thread Started on Jan 20, 2006, 10:43pm »

For the stories and poems and song lyrics you post (I'll call them all "stories"), there is a set of guidelines you should follow.

First, name each thread (one per story (for the longer ones), or one per series (for the shorter ones, like poems)) with the title of the story (ie., "The Great Adventure"), the rating (G, for general, T, for teenager, and R, for restricted/mature), and why it is rated so (violence, language, alcohol consumption are all examples; nudity/sexuality is not permitted). In all, the title of your thread should look like so:
Quote:
The Great Adventure, T: some violence, some drinking

Note: It does not have to be in that order.
Also Note: If something is rated "E" or "G/PG" it does not need a rating explanation. A simple "E" would do.

-------------------------------------------

As for amounts of threads, please keep them to a minimum. Most poems are on the shorter side, and do not need an entire thread for each. So you can condense the subject matter into a single thread, and simply keep replying with more poems. This also works for short stories, and long stories as well (by, for example, replying with the next chapter). Even very long poems should not take up an entire thread.

-------------------------------------------

All stories are available to comments. Please do not be rude, but rather helpful, in critiquing one's poem, story, etc. And not every thread has to be just a showcase; you can post an idea strictly on the intention of getting ideas to further the story from other members.

The Rating System is as follows:

\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/

First Level
E -- Everyone
G -- General Audiences
PG -- General Audiences

The "P" Is Not Important
All Three Ratings Mean The Same Thing

Second Level
T -- Recommended For Teens
PG-13 -- Recommended For Teens

Both Ratings Mean The Same Thing

Third Level
M -- Mature Audiences
R -- Recommended / Restricted To Mature Audiences

Both Ratings Mean The Same Thing

OTHER
Any other type of rating is not permitted. Other ratings include NC-17, X, and AO, all of which exceed this site's limitations on mature content. If you put such a rating in your thread title it will be locked until both the title is changed and the material is changed. If you do not rate the thread with such ratings though it is clear to the staff that the thread deserves one, it will be locked. Repeated violations will result in warning, then immediately following the next infraction, a ban.
